PROBLEM

The floor keeps being where you left it.

SOLUTION

Jump Knee is the MTREES kinetic energy storage and bipedal launch enhancement platform for the human knee — a spring-loaded joint augmentation system that converts the standard ambulatory stride into a coiled, pre-loaded departure event. The operator walks. The spring loads. The operator does not decide when the spring fires so much as the spring decides when the conditions are sufficient and the operator agrees with that assessment at high velocity. Jump Knee is not a perch system. Jump Knee does not perch. Jump Knee launches from the perch and becomes the thing the perch watches leave. The pogo stick was a proof of concept. The proof of concept has been integrated into the knee. The knee is now the stick. The operator is now the pogo. Leaps and bounds. Specifically: leaps. The bounds are the landing, which is a separate product category.

components

A tensioned coil mechanism that stores and releases mechanical energy to advance, eject, or reset a component. The muscle behind the trigger.

EXTENDS

The Knee is the MTREES modular joint attachment platform and anatomical mounting chassis for the human knee — a load-bearing hinge that has been doing its job for the entire lifespan of the patient without documentation, without a warranty, and without a single threaded interface. The Knee addresses this. The attachment point is defined. The adapter accepts what the adapter accepts. The leg continues below. The thigh continues above. The angle between them is the product. The Knee does not replace the existing joint. The Knee augments it with a standardized attachment surface so that future components do not have to negotiate with the bone directly, which has historically been an uncomfortable conversation for everyone involved.

OK Need addresses the interface gap. The body arrives without threaded ports, without mounting rails, and without a datasheet. OK Need establishes the standard. The prototype knee defines the attachment geometry. Variants extend the prototype. The leg is the chassis. The forest grows from the joint."
