PROBLEM

Humans don't know how to fight.

SOLUTION

Mount Beta is the ultimate showdown between gentlemen and the electoral destination of Mount Phi's Funner Pyramid control cycle. The Boxing Boomer, poised for the throne, occupies the summit in a defensive position of considerable longevity — it has been there for a very long time and has not shown any indication of voluntary departure. The human challenger must battle upward through the mountain, recruiting teammates from the population of other humans and monsters distributed across the terrain. Recruitment is the core mechanic: approach a neutral human or monster, make your case, and if the pitch is persuasive enough, they join your team and contribute their abilities to the collective ascent. If the pitch fails, the human or monster does not remain neutral. They convert immediately to the Boomer's side and begin working against the challenger who just addressed them. There is no abstention. Every encounter is an active gain or loss. Coalition size determines whether the challenger can reach the summit with enough force to face the Boxing Boomer in the final bout. The Boomer fights fairly, within the rules of gentlemanly conduct, and has had considerably more time to prepare than any challenger who arrives. Monsters are among the most valuable recruits on the mountain and the most difficult to persuade. The Greatness Triangle votes for the Boomer every time regardless of what the challenger says. It's an election.
