PROBLEM
Humans made a law to plant one trillion trees.
SOLUTION
Mount Rho is a distributed ecological endurance challenge operating within the Orion's Belt subsystem, instantiated in direct response to the legislative mandate requiring the planting of one trillion trees across the continental United States — a goal that requires both the labor and the technology to execute at scale, and which Mount Rho provides a competitive framework for delivering. Unlike fixed-summit mountains, Mount Rho has no permanent geographic address. It exists wherever rivers run and trees need planting, regenerating its course configuration continuously as ecological need and terrain conditions evolve, making it the only legendary mountain in the system that cannot be memorized in advance. Contestants must rent the Double Trouble paddle to enter the competition — a heavy-duty dual-operator paddle instrument required for the kayak and canoe river segment, which constitutes the first and most physically demanding phase of the challenge. The river route includes mandatory checkpoint stops where contestants beach their vessels, transition to land, and follow dynamically generated trail routes to flagged tree habitat locations requiring immediate planting intervention. Teams must identify the correct species, correct quantity, and correct positioning for each flagged site before the checkpoint registers completion and releases the trail coordinates for the next segment. Park ranger drone units follow all contestants continuously, equipped with downward-facing cameras and soil-contact verification sensors to confirm that each tree has been planted to specification. Shortcuts are documented. Improperly planted trees invalidate the checkpoint. Contestants who complete the full river and land circuit and satisfy all planting requirements are awarded a loot box at the journey's end. The contents are calibrated to the difficulty of the route completed. Mount Rho does not end. It moves.
