The Studio Speaker is a habitat pod engineered for musicians who need a mini-recording studio inside their house and for professionals who require a video conferencing environment that does not sound like a parking garage. The Speaker is fully soundproof and emits no audible sound to the outside world — it contains it, captures it, and sends it somewhere else via the HD audio system and immersive augmented reality conferencing booth. A sealed cylindrical living segment derived from the Burrito Segment architecture but expanded to full standing-room diameter and reinforced for acoustic deadness. The walls are a five-layer sandwich: structural polymer shell, 80mm closed-cell acoustic foam, mass-loaded vinyl decoupling membrane, air gap, and interior fabric finish. Sound transmission class rating of 65. The door seal is identical to the one used on a walk-in freezer except it does not make you cold. You will forget there is a world outside. The VR Glasses are the operator-side wearable display unit of the Turn Pike telepresence system, a standalone mixed-reality headset providing a live stereoscopic feed from the Turn Pike VR Camera at the toll booth, rendered at sufficient resolution and refresh rate that the operator perceives themselves as present at the booth window during the encounter. The glasses include integrated spatial audio so the operator hears the toll environment as it sounds at the booth, including wind, engine noise, and whatever the driver is saying or not saying. Head tracking in the glasses drives the motorized hinge array on the Turn Pike unit, so when the operator turns to look at the approaching vehicle the camera and tablet face follow. The glasses ship with the Turn Pike unit but are worn by the operator at home. They are not weatherproof because they are inside. A charging dock is included. Whether the operator wears them while on the couch, at a desk, or standing in their kitchen is between the operator and their union agreement.
