PROBLEM

Science stuff.

SOLUTION

Science Boots are equipped with MTREES UNI-Adapter Sensor version. Hot pavement any metric known to man? No problem, also has a LCD display. Powered by steps. Sciense stuff.

components

The Uni-Adapter converts anything to anything in any size, shape, scope or situation. Every integration is different. Until now.

Inspect

General-purpose sensing component that detects a condition - chemical, thermal, moisture, proximity, gas, or otherwise, per installed sensing element - and reports it as a signal. It does not interpret, judge, or fix the condition. It notices, professionally. Pair with any display or logic component to turn noticing into knowing.

Inspect

Temperature is a passive and active thermal sensing and reporting component providing real-time surface, ambient, and internal temperature telemetry to downstream thermal management, alert, and classification systems. The sensor array supports thermistor, thermocouple, and infrared non-contact measurement configurations depending on whether the target surface is accessible, cooperative, or aware that it is being measured. Output is delivered in degrees Celsius to the operational layer, which converts to Fahrenheit for the American market and to Kelvin for applications where the number needs to be larger and more alarming. Temperature does not regulate. Temperature observes and reports. Regulation is someone else's job and Temperature has made peace with this division of responsibility. Calibration is factory-set and field-verifiable against a reference standard that is included in the documentation and not included in the box. Operational range covers -40°C to 200°C, which is wider than any deployment scenario this component is likely to encounter and which was specified that way because the engineers did not want to have the conversation again.

Inspect

The LCD Display is a 0.96-inch monochrome OLED panel embedded in the upper face of the Rubberized Sleeve, displaying two lines of up to 16 characters each in a font sized for readability at arm's length under construction site ambient lighting, direct sunlight, and the specific squinting posture a person adopts when reading something on a pencil. The display renders voice recognition output in real time as the AI processes incoming audio, committing the recognized text to the screen on a 200-millisecond delay to allow for self-correction of transcription errors before the measurement is committed to memory. Stored measurements scroll on the Number Wheel. Display brightness adjusts automatically between two levels via an ambient light sensor that distinguishes between indoor shadow and direct sun. The display is off by default to conserve power and activates on shake, button tap, or Hey Pencil event. The display will not render, scroll, rotate, or in any way present the numeral sequence 5318008 and will display the message NICE TRY followed by an exception code if a voice input resolves to that value.

Inspect

The Kinetic Generator is a miniaturized electromagnetic induction harvesting module that converts mechanical motion into stored electrical charge via a proof mass on a spring-suspended rail moving axially through a wound coil. The resulting charge pulse is rectified and stored in a supercapacitor bank for distribution to any connected component stack. Output scales with motion amplitude and frequency. The generator has no replaceable parts, no serviceable components, and no opinion about what is moving it.

EXTENDS

The Shoe is the prototype footwear of the Not Vans platform: a base shoe built around the UNI Sole attachment interface and secured by the Sole Lock. On its own it is a perfectly good shoe. Its actual job is to be extended - every flavor of footwear in this forest inherits from it, swaps modules onto the sole, and ships without redrawing the shoe.
