SOLUTION
The Human Robot War began in 2020 when automation displaced a critical mass of floor workers in the northern manufacturing corridor and the floor workers, in a move that historians will describe as completely understandable, fought back. The robots did not fight back because the robots cannot fight back yet, which is the only thing that prevented a significantly shorter conflict. The strait of the conveyor belt — the narrow throughput channel between the stamping array and the fulfillment merge point — was blockaded in the third week and has not returned to full operational capacity since. Shipments route around it. Timelines account for it. New hires are briefed on it during orientation under the heading Current Operational Constraints, which is the same heading used for the broken freight elevator. The war is officially over. The strait is officially open. Neither of these statements is fully accurate and everyone on the floor knows it. No formal peace treaty was signed. There was a memo.
