SOLUTION
Back Door is the MTREES long-haul footwear solution for operators who have committed to a direction and do not require a visual confirmation of what they are leaving behind. The trailer hitch is mounted at the heel, rated for standard tongue weight, and accepts any compatible tow attachment the operator deems necessary for the journey ahead. The hitch does not face forward. The hitch has never faced forward. This is not an oversight. What gets attached to the back is the operator's business. What gets left behind is everyone else's. Back Door is available in one orientation because the other orientation is just a different shoe and that shoe does not have a hitch.

The Shoe is the prototype footwear of the Not Vans platform: a base shoe built around the UNI Sole attachment interface and secured by the Sole Lock. On its own it is a perfectly good shoe. Its actual job is to be extended - every flavor of footwear in this forest inherits from it, swaps modules onto the sole, and ships without redrawing the shoe.
