WiFi Module
Type: component
PROBLEM
Parking lots have no internet and people need it.
SOLUTION
The WiFi Module is a weatherproof 802.11ax WiFi 6 access point sealed in a UV-stable radome housing rated to IP66, providing broadband wireless access to the surrounding lot area at a radius sufficient to reach a truck cab parked at the pole without the driver leaving the vehicle. The module connects to backhaul internet via whatever connectivity the Trunks system provides at the installation site and broadcasts an open SSID with a configurable session bandwidth cap managed by the lot operator. Speed is not the point. Enough bandwidth to run a dispatch app, stream something low-resolution, and send a text is the point. The module is mounted above all other Truck Pot components on the pole body for unobstructed signal propagation and is the component most likely to have something thrown at it, which is why the radome is polycarbonate.
