PROBLEM

A 1,000 decibel scream cannot be heard on a job site loud enough to require it.

SOLUTION

The Vibration Unit is a coin-form eccentric rotating mass motor embedded in the lower body of the Rubberized Sleeve that activates simultaneously with the Hey Pencil speaker event to produce a sustained vibration pattern detectable through any surface the Under Writer is resting on, including a tool belt, a lumber stack, a concrete slab, or the inside of a work boot. The vibration pattern is a three-pulse sequence repeated at one-second intervals, chosen because three pulses reads as intentional to a human hand or surface in contact with the unit and not as ambient tool vibration from the job site. The motor draws 80 milliwatts at full output and runs for the full three-second locator event duration. The Vibration Unit is the reason the Under Writer can be found on the loudest job sites where the speaker alone is insufficient, and is also the reason that leaving the Under Writer in a shirt pocket during a Hey Pencil activation is an experience the documentation describes as noticeable.
