Two Way Speaker
Type: component
PROBLEM
After an alert is triggered the operator and the monitoring center need to be able to talk to each other.
SOLUTION
The Two Way Speaker is a combined microphone and speaker module integrated into the I've Fallen unit body, enabling bidirectional voice communication between the operator and the 24-hour monitoring center immediately upon alert confirmation. The speaker output is 85 decibels at one meter, sufficient for a person lying on a floor to hear the monitoring center from a normal room distance away. The microphone is an omnidirectional electret capsule with a noise floor low enough to capture a voice at reduced volume, which is the volume at which people tend to speak when they are on the floor and uncertain about what happens next. The connection is established automatically when the alert is confirmed and does not require the operator to press anything additional. The monitoring center speaks first.
